Falling for Autumn: Styled Shoot

In an age when people are denied the most basic of human impulses to come together, love still finds a way.

More and more couples are finding creative ways to overcome all obstacles and tie the knot. By eloping, they can escape the everyday to be intimate with each other and make memories that matter. For a shared moment, two lovers can forget the troubles of the outside world and be everything to each other.

We wanted to tell the story of how two people can embrace their love, in all its beauty and diversity.

For those that know me, you'll know how much I love elopements. So much so that Dean and I chose to elope to Scotland with only the children and Dean's mum last year. Scotland, Ireland and Cornwall are all super popular UK elopement destinations but I genuinely believe that Jersey has got just as much to offer. Beautiful scenery, beaches, dunes and cliff paths. It's the perfect place for adventurous couples to escape from the wedding formalities. And in these strange times the empowering nature of elopements has never felt more relevant as Covid guidelines cause continued restrictions.

This styled shoot brought together the talents of a number of local suppliers but it was the incredibly talented Anna from Wonderlands who breathed beauty into the elopement vision. The colour palette was inspired by nature and the changing seasons. She crafted the perfect moment from the fleeting shades of autumn, with pampas grass, dried eucalyptus, and sunset oranges. Bohemian fabrics and dried florals softened the scene as they swayed on the evening tide.

It was also a joy to get to collaborate once again with videographer Becky Kinross who brought the elopement to life with her film which incorporates original Super8 which is just so gorgeous.
