Tiny toes, sleepy smiles and curled up fists. There’s nothing that compares to those early days with a new member of the family. The most precious but oh so fleeting of times.
I’ve been there, I understand how the days blur into one and just getting out of your pyjamas can feel like an achievement. My newborn shoots are as relaxed as they come. I’m completely led by you and baby. We can pause at any time for a feed, a change or a snooze.
A moment just for you
When your baby arrives in the world you are hit by a love like no other. You feel more vulnerable than you ever have before. I understand. That feeling never changes!
It’s an honour to be welcomed into someone’s home at such a sacred time. I never take that for granted and each session revolves around you and your baby. Some babies will be unsettled, others sleep the entire time. Some will want to just feed and others won’t want to be put down. There is no right or wrong and I’ll be with you to capture the beauty in it all.
One of my favourite things about newborn sessions is that it gives you a chance to just be. You’re at home, in your safe place and there’s nothing else to do but snuggle in and gaze upon the face of your new creation.
Newborn photography in the comfort of your home
Most of my newborn sessions take place in your home. There’s nowhere else you need to be at this time in your life and you want all your comforts around you.
I don’t use any backdrops or props, I just bring with me some swaddles and blankets, but all I really need is you, your beautiful bundle and some window light. I’ll make sure you’re comfortable and then just leave you to be in the moment, to stare into your baby’s eyes and gaze at their lovely newness. I unobtrusively capture your time together. All the details, those teeny toes and tiny fingers. The little wrinkles and rolls. Their tufts of hair and perfect pouts.
The best time for a newborn shoot is within the first two weeks of their arrival. The sessions can be booked in around your due date and I’m more than happy to be flexible. As we know, these babies run on their own time!
Bump to baby sessions
Your world has changed in such a short space of time. Within a short space of time your bump becomes a baby, you become a family and nothing is as it was.
I put together my bump to baby shoots as a celebration of you and your amazing, strong body. Starting with a maternity shoot at around 30 weeks the package also includes a laid back, at home newborn session.

QUESTIONS & ANSWERS
When is the best time to book?
You’re best booking in whilst you’re still pregnant (I’d suggest after your 20 week scan). If you’re planning an indoor session the best time to schedule an newborn shoot is within the first two weeks when they’re still so sleepy and squishy. Using the due date as a guide, I'll book you in two weeks after the due date you’ve been given.
If your baby arrives early or late your session can be moved but what is important is that your booking is saved as I only take on a limited number of photoshoots per month.
If you’d prefer an outdoor session (during the warmer months) then I’d suggest planning this when they are a few weeks older so they can hold their head more.

What to expect?
I'm not going to try to get your baby into any crazy poses, and if your baby is wide awake for the whole session, it’s totally fine. Some parents get anxious when their baby doesn’t “cooperate” but you really don’t need to worry. Babies aren’t meant to be cooperative, they are the boss by nature, so we’re just going to go with their flow.
Who can be involved?
Parents, siblings, pets should all be involved in the session if you want them to be.
What do I need?
You don’t need to buy or do anything special for your session. I can bring with me swaddles, blankets and a moses basket.
Can I upgrade my package once I’ve seen the gallery?
Absolutely, if you’re struggling to decide which images you want to keep then you’re more than welcome to upgrade your package so you can keep them all.
